Callies Kustoms 3100mAh (Black)
This is my first "stand alone" battery test/review, there is very little text in the review, but I have written a seperate article with more information about the information box and the charts. Later on I plan on making a comparison, like my old 2010 and 2011 battery reviews.
- Nominal voltage: 3.6-3.7V
- Nominal capacity: 3100mAh
- Lowest recommended discharge voltage: 2.5V
- Charge rate: 885mA standard, 3100mA max.
- PCB Protected
- Panasonic Cells
- Dimensions: 18.8x68.85
- 6.2A Max Discharge
The cell used can be discharged down to 2.5 volt, in my test I only discharges to 2.8 volt, i.e. I do not measure the full capacity. But then, not all lights will be able to use the full capacity.
The batteries was packed in many layers, these pictures only shows the last layers of wrapping. Callies does also include a page about how to thread LiIon batteries.
Each chart has curves for two batteries, but these batteries are nearly identical in performance and the curves are on top of each other.
The battery is charged to 4.2 volt (More precise: 4.196V), but when the charge current is stopped the voltage falls immediately to 4.185 volt and during the next hour to 4.163 volt. This is normal for LiIon batteries.
This battery uses a good cell, this secures many things:
- The batteries does match in capacity, i.e. they can be used in series.
- The battery is very safe.
- The battery has the specified capacity.
The PCB current limit is placed about 30% above the cell specification, this is a good value.
All in all a very good battery.
